He stood at the shoreline once more. The spring sunlight reflected its rays across the surface of the gently undulating water. The high tide caressed his feet as he left his imprints in the soft, wet sand.
He closed his eyes. He listened.
The melodies filled his senses. He could hear them. He could touch and feel them. They were so very real.
They embraced him.
He turned around, away from the sea.
He looked into her eyes and raised his hands to hold her face.
“Hi,” he said. “I thought you’d never come.”
“Don’t be silly,” she replied. “I was always here with you.”
